Amigurumi Pattern for a Cute Fuschia-Colored Creature with Triangular Head

Tips:

· Use hook size D for making the mandibles; use hook size G for everything else. ? To make a yellow zoomer, replace the fuschia head/body with yellow-orange and the blue legs with green. Work in continuous rounds or spiral; do not join or turn unless otherwise instructed (see amigurumi video tutorial). Place a stitch marker to indicate beg of rnd; move marker up as each rnd is completed. After each initil "ch 2, work _sc into first ch" step, puthe tailtight to close the first ch so that the hole disappears. Ifind this to be easier than magic ring.

SPIKES (make 11 small,4 medium, and 1 large)

With yellow-green yarn, ch 2 and work 4 sc into first ch. Rnd 1: Sc in each sc around - 4 sc. Rnd 2: $^{*}S c$ in next sc, 2 sc in next $\mathsf{S C}^{*}$ repeat 2 times - 6 sc. <Stop here for small spike. EYES (make 2)

With yellow yarn, ch 2 and work 3 sc into first ch. Row 1: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc - 6 sc. Row 2: ch 1, turn, $^*\mathtt{S C}$ in next sc, 2 sc in next $\mathsf{s c}^{*}$ repeat 3 times - 9 sc. Row 3: ch 1, turn, $^*\mathsf{s c}$ in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next $s c^{*}$ repeat 3 times - 12 sc. Slip st into next st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

MANDIBLES (make 2)

With hook size D and yellow-green yarn, ch 2 and work 4 sc into first ch. Rnd 1: Sc in each sc around - 4 sc. Rnd 2: $^{*}S c$ in next sc, 2 sc in next $s c^{*}$ repeat 2 times - 6 sc. Row 3: Stop working in rounds. Ch 1, turn, sc in next 3 sc - 3 sc. Slip st into next st. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. (The last 3 sc are created so that the mandibles will slant inwards when sewn to the head.)

FINISHING (see joining amigurumi tutorial)

Stuff the head and sew it to the front of the body. K wanted to make the head triangular-shaped by pulling the bottom of the head to make a "chin" and pushing in the "cheeks" to be slightly concave. Sew the eyes and mandibles to the head. Hide theyarn endsby pulling them throughthe stffed animal andcutting offthe excess yarn.
