SUNFLOWER

I hope you enjoy making this flower as much as I did. I often modify patterns others have so generously shared, but this is my first truly original pattern. I wanted to share it to give back and say thank you to the Ravelry community. Questions, comments and feedback for improvement of the pattern are welcome and appreciated. Yarn: Berroco Vintage (dark brown and yellow) - Worsted Weight Hook: 4.5 mm
Brown centre:
Make a magic ring. Round 1: ch 2, 15 dc in ring, join with sl st to first dc Round 2: ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch around, join with sl st to first dc
Yellow petals:
Front layer \*chain 8 in top of one dc, turn. Sl st into 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc. Skip one stitch (on brown centre), sl st. Repeat from \* all around.
Back layer
\*sl st into brown loop behind next petal of front layer. Ch 8, turn, sl st into 2nd ch from hook, sc, hdc, 2 dc, hdc, sc. Repeat from \* all around. SI st behind first petal.
Finish:
Sew in ends and block.
