Baby unny 's oeks

This sock pattern was invented in the pursuit of simplicity. My daughter Rachael is expecting Sunny in December of 2010. Sunny is my first grandbaby and in anticipation of her arrival and the grandbabies to come I wanted a simple and elegant pattern that I could memorize and knit at will. Size: 0-3 months, 3-9 months, 12 months Skill Level: Intermediate - Experienced Preparation: Go to YouTube and watch Cat Bordhi's video: wrapping & turning, concealing wraps. I finish the heel in a slightly different manner. The tweaks come at Working the wraps Row 1 & 2 and is high-lighted by a (\*).
Supplies:
This pattern can be knit with 4 DPNs, 2 Circular needles or 1 Circular needle (24 inches or longer) using the Magic Loop method. I used US size 3/3.25mm DPNs and US size $2/2.75\mathsf{m m}$ circulars to obtain a gauge of 7 stitches per inch in stockinette. \*Use a needle size that allows you obtain the correct gauge.
Yarn:
Fingering Weight yarn with $7\%$ or so elastic content, approximately 100, 120, 140 yards per pair. I recommend Paton's Stretch Socks Yarn. I like the Paton's because it is $80\%$ natural fibers, inexpensive, easy to find and does not require a special laundry protocol. If you are giving these to a new mom, use yarn that does not require special attention. $\circledcirc$

Pink wrap on tan stitch Pink wrap on the needle "behind the tan stitch" Pick up the wrap from the back of your work Round 1: The wrapped purl stitch is already worked. So begin working in the round: K1, P2 and then continue in K2P2 pattern. Use the first round to adjust your stitch distribution. Return to the cast on distribution. Work K2P2 rib for 2 (2 %, 3) inches. \*\*If you are making the 3-9 months size socks, use the final K2P2 row to set up the toe. On the last row of K2P2 include 2 evenly spaced K2tog decreases. If you are using 3 DPNs evenly distribute your stitches, 14 stitches per needle. 2 circulars - 21 stitches on each needle. Magic loop - 21 stitches on each side of the loop Toe: Round 1 - (K4 (5, 6), k2tog) six times Round 2 -K Round 3 - (K3 (4, 5), k2tog) six times Round 4 -K Round 5 - (K2 (3, 4), k2tog) six times Round 6 -K Round 7 - (K1 (2, 3), k2tog) six times Round 8-K Continue in pattern until 6 stitches remain.
