Materials
- 3 skeins of Yarna Super Royal (Lace / 2 ply; 70% Mohair, 30% Acrylic; 25 grams(0.88 ounces) / 262 yards (240 meters) per skein). - US 4 - 3.5 mm needles. - Crochet hook. -waist yarn.
Shawl size
Customizable. You can change shawl size to do fewer or more repeats of Chart 2. Sampler shawl size is 220cm\*110cm / 86.5"\*43" (4 repeats of Chart 2).
Instructions
Cast-on
Using waste yarn and crochet hook chain 4-5 stitches. With shawl yarn pick up and knit 3 stitch of back loops of chain (3 stitches). Knit all stitches 6 rows. Row 7: knit 3, turn work and pick up 1 stitch in each 3 garter rides, remove waste yarn from cast-on stitches, place 3 stitches on left hand needle and knit these 3 stitches (9 stitches on needle). Notes
3 first and 3 last sts (from 9 sts) are Edge sts. Edge sts are knitted in RS and WS rows, they are not shown in Charts. 5-th sts (from 9 sts) is Center st. Center st is not shown in Charts 1-4. Knit Center st in RS rows, purl in WS rows. Charts 1-4 show shawl right side only. For shawl left side, use this Chart too. Chart 5 shows right and left sides, Center st has pink color. Chart 6 shows right and left sides, no Center st. Yarn overs used for increasing along Center and Edge sts are shown in yellow. Only RS rows are charted. WS rows purl, Edge sts in WS rows knit. Pattern repeats are shown in blue. Work the Chart 1 (rows 1-20) once. Work the Chart 2 (rows 1-24) as many times as you prefer (4 repeats for sampler shawl). Work the Chart 3 (rows 1-26) once. Work the Chart 4 (rows 1-14) once. Work the Chart 5 (rows 1-22) once. Work the Chart 6 (rows 1-12) once.
Bind off and blocking
Loosely bind off all stitches. Soak shawl in lukewarm water (with soap for fiber if desired) for 30 minutes. Rinse and roll in towel to get rid of excess water. Pin out on clean sheet or blocking board. Let dry and unpin only when dry.
