Yarn - Worsted weight about 80g MC & 50g CC Needles - US size 6 (4mm) Tapestry needle & scissors

Gauge:

5 stitches/6 rows=1 inch

Slytherin: KnitPicks Brave Worsted in "Hunter" & Red Heart Soft in "Light Grey Heather" Ravenclaw: Red Heart Soft in "navy" and "toast" (Blue & bronze from book shown - for movie-accurate blue & silver, use "light gray heather") Hufflepuff: Loops & Threads Impeccable in "Butterscotch"and“Black"

Instructions:

CO 100 stitches in CC using long tail cast on. Rows 1-3: \*K2 P2\* around. Row 4: Switch to MC, K 1 row Rows 5-7: \*K2 P2\* around. Row 8: Knit 1 row plain Rows 9-35 switch to CC and follow chart for your chosen house. When chart is complete, proceed to decrease instructions.

Decreases:

Row 36: in MC, k 1 row Row 37: \*K8, K2Tog\* around (90sts) Row 38 & all even-numbered rows: Knit plain Row 39: \*K7, K2Tog\* around (80 sts) Row 41: \*K6, K2Tog\* around (70 sts) Row 43: \*K5, K2Tog\* around (60 sts) Row 45: \*K4, K2Tog\* around (50 sts) Row 47: \*K3, K2Tog\* around (40 sts) Row 49: \*K2, K2Tog\* around (30 sts) Row 51: \*K1, K2Tog\* around (20 sts) Row 53: \*K2Tog\* around (10 sts) Cut yarn and pull through remaining stitches. Cinch closed. Weave in all ends, make a pompom for the top and stuff it on your head!
