2 - NOTES ON THE PULLOVER
This sweater is knit from the top down, with seamless construction. We begin by casting on stitches for the back to form the neckline and the beginning of the back pattern. Then we pick up and knit stitches for each shoulder to form the beginning of the front neckline. After a few rows, we pick up and knit stitches for the sleeve caps, and knit the sleeves together with the body. The top of the sweater is knit back and forth to form the placket and the front round neckline. Sleeve caps are knitted together with the top of the sweater, with increases every 2 rows, reaching the separation of the body and sleeves. Sleeve stitches are placed on waste yarn and the bottom of the body is knit up to the lower edge ribbing. Sleeves are then knit in the round with an elbow patch and ended with a ribbing border. We then pick up and knit stitches for the button band, on each side of the opening and we end with an I-Cord edge around the neckline. In “Techniques", there is a step by step photo tutorial for the sweater top construction. Each step of the construction is indicated in the pattern, with a number, included in the "Techniques" pattern, for example Step 1. Nota: for short rows, when it's indicated < k to the wrapped stitch 》, you have to stop just before the wrapped st. The next stitch (k or p) should be knitted with the wrap, to close the hole of the short row.
3 - FINISHED SIZES
In order to have a sweater with a good fit at shoulders and armholes, the size should be taken based on the back shoulder span measure. Once the size is selected, you have to compare the intended bust size with yours. If the two correspond roughly (less than 5 cm), you can knit this size without asking more questions. If your bust size is smaller, you will have a little more ease than expected. You decide if that bothers you or not. If your bust size is larger, you will consider adjusting the pattern to take account of this difference. The adjustment method is in the "Techniques" document, accompanying this pattern. If you don't want to change the pattern, choose the size according to your bust, this will give a more loose sweater fit than expected at the shoulders and armholes.
