This asymmetrical unisex cowl is knit flat in a double seed stitch. The edges are set askew and seamed together. The optional ribbon is woven through the fabric over the seam. Gauge: 12 sts / 24 rows in 4" Cast on 25 sts. Row 1: K1, pl across, ending with kl. Row 2: P1, kl across, ending with k1. Row 3: Repeat row 2. Row 4: Repeat row 1. Repeat these 4 rows until the piece measures 17" from CO. Bind off loosely, leaving about an 18" tail for seaming. Sew first 6" of cast-on row to last 6" of bind-off row. I like to use a figure-8 technique to minimize visibility. Weave in ends. If desired, lace 1/2" wide ribbon through the fabric from the bottom of the seamed edge to the top, like a shoe lace. Tie ends into a bow. Twitchy Design lives, works, and plays in the Coast Range mountains of the Pacific Northwest.
