Short Beard
This is a great way to use up some left over yarn, and amuse yourself! Plus it is a funny way to stay warm in winter! This pattern was designed with double knot yarn, and 4mm needles (US size 6). But there is a lot of room for adjustment to individual faces. Try it on as you are working, there is plenty of space to repeat rows if you want a longer beard, and make small adjustments to fit your face better! Cast on 12 Knit across (12stitches) \*Knit across then cast on 3\* repeat until there are 42 stitches (or until beard reaches desired Width) Knit across (42 stitches) x4 times (or until it reaches desired length) Knit 15, bind off/cast off 12 stitches, knit last 15 stitches. Working on 1st side: \* knit across to last stitch and bind off last stitch (14 stiches) Bind off 1 stitch then knit across (13 stitches)\* repeat until there are only 8 stitches left. Bind off the 8 stitches Work on 2nd half of beard, attach yarn to outside edge, then work like side 1 Make mustache- There are many great patterns (but they seem to work best crocheted). Then try on beard and place mustache where you want it, and then sew the mustache to the beard (with enough room to talk and breath between the two) Finishing- Hide yarn tails. Attach a piece of ribbon or yarn to the upper outside corner, make sure they are long enough to tie behind the head. Enjoy your beard and mustache, and the warmth it give your face, the people it make smile!
