Besotted Scarf

Supplies:
-2 skeins (380 yards) Lamb's Pride Worsted yarn, or other worsted weight yarn. Or, make a very long scarf with 3 skeins. (Feel free to use chubbier yarn and/or larger needles to make a giant scarf. It will look just as lovely!) -Size 8 US needles and a cable needle or one double pointed needle -Finished size,aprox. $5~^{1}/2^{"}\times55^{"}$ The slipped and stockinette edge stitches create a nice, tidy rolled edge for the scarf.
${\mathsf{C4B}}={\mathsf{S l i p}}\;2$ sts. onto a cable needle and hold to back of work. K2, then K the 2 sts. off cable needle.
C4F $=$ Slip 2 sts. onto a cable needle and hold to front of work. K2, then K the 2 sts. off cable needle.
Pattern:
Cast on 44 stitches. Row 1. (RS): Slip 1, K1, \*P2, K8, P2, ${\sf K}{\sf2^{\star}}$ Repeat what's between the $^\star_{\sf S}$ two more times. Row 2. Slip 1, P1, $\star\mathsf{K}_{2}$ P8, K2, $\mathsf{P}2^{\star}$ Repeat what's between the $\star_{\mathsf{S}}$ two more times. Row 3. (RS): Slip 1, K1, $^{\star}\mathsf{P}2$ , C4B, C4F, P2, ${\sf K}{\sf{2}}^{\star}$ Repeat what's between the $\mathbf{\Psi}^{\star}\mathfrak{S}$ two more times. Row 4: Same as row 2. Rows 5.-10.: Repeat rows 1-4, then 1 and 2 again. Row 11. (RS) : Slip 1, K1, $^{\star}\mathsf{P}2$ ,C4F, C4B,P2, ${\sf K}{\sf{2}}^{\star}$ Repeat what's between $\ast_{\mathsf{S}}2$ more times. Row 12: Same as row 2. Row 13 (Rs): Same as row 1. Row 14: Same as row 2. Row 15 (RS): Same as row 11. Row 16: Same as row 2. Repeat these 16 rows to desired length, ending on row 4.
