Pattoz, a bear

This is one of my first patterns. Three years after, here is a new version: Ive corrected a few mistakes and made instructions clearer and more detailed. The new Pattoz sits properly and has a new sweater (directions are included this time).
Materials:
3,00 or 3,50 mm (US 2,5 or 4) dpns(it depends on the yarn you pick and on your tension, fabric must be dense, to avoid the filling to show through the stitches) 1 ball (50 gr.) of dk or worsted weight wool of your choice Embroidery thread or wool in contrasting color Leftovers for the sweater Tapestry needle Scrap yarn or polyester fiberfill (to stuff the bear) You'd better fill the pieces while you knit, before it's too late.

Finishing:
Sew head and legs to the body of the bear (see picture). If you want the bear to sit, mind to sew the legs in the right position (see picture) Secure and weave inside the body of the bear all the ends and embroider the muzzle. If you want a fuzzy bear, brush it with a cat carder, gently, to avoid to pick fibers of the filling out.

Your bear is already handsome, but he'll be nicer if youll knit him a sweater..
Sweater:
With the same dpns used for the bear, cast on 18 sts and knit 4 rows in 1/1 ribs (youll join in the round later, this small open will help Patoz wearing the sweater, bears have big heads!) Round 5, join in the round and start working raglans, dividing on 4 4dpns the sts this way: needle 1 (back): k1fb, k5, k1fb; needle 2 (sleeve): k2fb; needle 3 (front) as needle 1; needle 4 (sleeve): as needle 2. Tot. 26 sts Round 6: k

Now move the sts on needle 2 and 4 (sleeves) on pieces of waste yarn and continue working in the round front and back of the sweater ( tot. 46 sts) for 10 rounds, and continue following chart (if necessary). Work 4 rounds more in 1/1 ribs then bind off loosely all sts. Pick up sleeves sts and knit in the round (eventually following chart 2) for 7 rounds, then work 4 rounds more in 1/1 ribs then bind off loosely all sts. Secure and weave in ends, trim tails and, if you want wash and block lightly.
