Needle Size 7, double points or magic loop Finished size: 6.5 x 72 inches, without fringe Gauge 4.5 stitches & 6 rows/ inch Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes: Chocolate 4 skeins Dove Heather 2 skeins Arctic Pool Heather 3 skeins Cast on 60 stitches. Join in the round. Knit 2 rounds with Chocolate, then begin stripe pattern: 12 rounds Chocolate 2 rounds Dove Heather 8 rounds Arctic Pool Heather 2 rounds Dove Heather Repeat pattern 18 times total, or to desired length. Knit 14 rounds with Chocolate. (Note there will be 14 rows in the first and last stripe of Chocolate to allow for the fringe.) Bind off. Weave in ends. Block if desired. Fringe: Cut six 13-inch strands of yarn for each fringe group. The scarf pictured has 10 fringe groups on each end of scarf, beginning and ending with Chocolate. Using a crochet hook pull center of fringe group though the end of scarf to create a loop. Bring ends of strands through the loop then pul to tighten. Repeat with remaining groups, spacing evenly along each end. Trim fringe to a uniform length, if desired.
