Special stitch: bhdc - insert hook in horizontal bar just under back loop of stitch and make a hdc - see picture on next page |
To make bhdc:

This is this back of the hdc stitch. You will insert your hook from the front, in the direction of the arrow, catching the horizontal bar just under what is normally considered the ‘back loop’ of the stitch.
Instructions
Pillow:
Chain 59 and join with sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist chain. Round 1: hdc in each chain around (58 hdc). Use a stitch marker to mark the end of each round. Round 2: bhdc in each hdc around (58 bhdc). Repeat round 2 until piece measures about 16 % " from beginning. Sl st in next bhdc and end off. Fold one end of tube so that edges are closed together. Attach yarn to one corner and work 29 sc, catching both edges of tube together. (This is the wrong side of work for edging). Ch 1, turn. Sl st in 1" sc, \*ch 2, sk 1 sc, sl st in next sc; repeat from \* across row and end off, weaving in end. Insert pillow form, then repeat procedure for edging on second side, catching both edges to close end of tube. COPYRIGHT: This pattern may be printed for the personal use of the purchaser only.
