Special Technique:
Alternate crochet cast-on: This method creates a crocheted edge that needs no further finishing and lies flat. Place specified ndls into HP. With yarn, make a slip stitch and place it over the latch hook. Push the latch hook up between the 1st and 2nd ndls on the LHS; with the yarn above the ndls, grab yarn and pull through forming a new stitch. Push latch hook up between the 2nd and 3rd ndls, grab yarn and pull through forming another new stitch. Continue in this pattern across ndls until 1ndl remains. Slip stitch from latch hook onto ndl. Instructions:
1. Place 24 ndls in HP. 2. Leaving an18in tail; cast-on using Alternate Crochet CO. 3. K 11 R; and reform sts on ndls 2 & 23. RC = 012 4. K 12 R; and reform sts on ndls 2 & 23. RC = 24 5. Repeat step 4, until piece measures 8in fm ndls. 6. Cut yarn 3x width of piece and Backstitch BO. 7. Fold piece in half; sew side seams and weave in loose ends.
Finishing:
Place 3 velcro strips per manufacturer's instructions. Center appliqué on front of bag and iron-on. Use fabric paint, as desired.
