Materials:
Scrap 4ply yarn (about 20 grams) 3.25 mm needles Tapestry needle Key: K = knit P = purl This pattern is worked from the bottom of the beanie to the top.

Little beanies for little people

Large Hat
Sizing Note:
Using heavier weight yarn and a larger hook will produce a larger beanie. Using finer weight yarn and a smaller hook will produce a smaller beanie. Using 3.25 needles, cast on 61 stitches, and work 1 row into back of cast on sts. 1st row: \*k1, p1, repeat from \* to last stitch. Repeat this row 10 times decreasing once at the end of last row. 1st row of top: Knit 1 row. 2nd row: knit 1, then purl to last stitch, then knit last stitch. Repeat these 2 rows five times. 13th row: \*knit 8, knit 2 together, repeat from \* to end of row. 14th row and all alternate rows: knit 1, purl to last stitch, knit 1. 15th row: \*knit 7, knit 2 together, repeat from \* to end of row. 17th row: \*knit 6, knit 2 together, repeat from\* to end of row. Continue in stocking stitch, working 1 stitch less between decreases, until 6 stitches remain. Cast off, and sew together.

Small Hat
For angel babies 16-17 weeks gestation; halve the amount of stitches in the large hat pattern, halve the number of rows and halve the amount of stitches between decreases.
