Designed by Maureen Clark Just two complementary skeins of our lovely Mewesic yarn sing together beautifully in this cozy cowl, worked in Brioche Stitch. Never done Brioche Stitch? You can find many helpful videos online. FINISHED SIZE: approximately 8 in / 20.5 cm high and 38 in / 96.5 cm around GAUGE: approximately 17 sts over 4 in / 10 cm in Brioche Stitch For accuracy check gauge over at least 4 in / 10 cm and adjust needle size if necessary

MATERIALS:

Yarn: Mewesic, Alpaca Elegance, Sylvan Spirit, Cotton Comfort, or New Mexico Organic - 1 skein in each of 2 colors Needles: Size 6 US / 4 mm circular needle, 29 in / 80 cm long GLOSSARY: yo= yarn over wyif = with yarn in front k2tog = knit 2 sts together wyib = with yarn in back p2tog = purl 2 sts together sl1 = slip 1 stitch

Note: when you k2tog or p2tog, you are working a yo from the previous round together withastitch. Round 1: with color A, \*k2tog, yo, sl1 (purlwise, wyib); repeat from \*. Round 2: with color B, \*yo, sl1 (purlwise, wyib), bring yarn forward and p2tog. INSTRUCTIONS

Using color A, cast on 164 sts. Place marker and join work, being careful not to twist sts. Work 6 rounds kl, pl ribbing. Leave color A hanging in back and attach colorB. Work setup round (with color B): \*yo, sll (purlwise, wyib), bring yarn forward and pl; repeat from \*. Leave color B hanging in front and begin two-color Brioche Stitch. Continue as established until color A is almost gone, or desired length. Change to color B and work 6 rounds kl, pl ribbing. Bind off loosely. FINISHING Weave ends in on wrong side. Your project will be softer and more beautiful after a gentle washing by hand in warm water and a mild soap or detergent. Then roll in a towel to remove excess moisture or spin dry in washing machine (for 10 seconds only). Lay flat to dry in well-ventilated area, shaping to correct measurements. Block if necessary.
