Saturn Valley is probably my favorite location in Earthbound, and when I couldn't find a pattern to make my own little Mr. Saturn I had to write one myself! Make one for every one of your friends, boing!
Materials:
Tan worsted weight yarn. Size 6 Double Pointed Needles. Gauge is not very important for this project, so long as your fabric is tight enough not to show the stuffing. Stuffing. Small amounts of black and red yarn. Tapestry Needle. This project can also be made with fingering weight yarn and size 1 needles for an even tinier Mr. Saturn, zoom!
Skills Needed:
Knitting in the round with double pointed needles. Basic increases and decreases - knit front and back (kfb) and knit 2 together (k2tog). Picking up stitches i-cord

Instructions:
Cast on 6 stitches and join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Rnd 1: kfb 6 times Rnd 2: \*k1, kfb\* 6 times Rnd 3-7: knit (5 rnds) Rnd 8: \*k2, kfb\* 6 times Rnd 9: \*k3, kfb\* 6 times Rnd 10: knit Rnd 11: \*k4, kfb\*6 times Rnd 12: knit Rnd 13: \*k5, kfb\*6 times Rnd 14-23: knit (10 rnds) Rnd 24: \*k5, k2tog\*6 times Rnd 25: knit Rnd 26: \*k4, k2tog\* 6 times Rnd 27: knit Rnd 28: \*k3, k2tog\* Rnd 29: knit \*\*\*STUFF YOUR PIECE AT THIS TIME\*\*\* Rnd 30: \*k2, k2tog\* 6 times Rnd 31: \*k1, k2tog\* 6 times Rnd 32: k2tog 6 times Break yarn and pull through 6 remaining stitches with a tapestry needle. Using black yarn, embroider whiskers on either side of the snout, and eyes about six stitches back from where the snout and body meet. Create eyebrows about two stitches behind the eyes.
For the Antennae:
Pick up two stitches and knit in between and four stitches behind the eyebrows with black. Knit i-cord to desired antennae length, then pull yarn through. Thread it back down the i-cord to stiffen the antennae. If it's still too floppy, you can insert a piece of thin wire! Crochet a short red chain to tie around the antennae.
For the Feet:
Using the tan yarn and two dpns, pick up and knit four stitches in a square at the bottom of your Mr. Saturn. Join in the round. Rnd 1: kfb 4 times Rnd 2: Knit. Rnd 3: k2tog 4 times Break yarn, and draw through remaining stitches. Repeat for other foot, and weave in your ends!
