Materials: US 9 needles, bulky weight yarn, waste yarn, darning needle Gauge: 5 sts/7 rows to 1’ in moss stitch Measurements: approx. 3.5" wide and 16" around, unstretched Using provisional cast on method, CO 9 sts. Knit one row.

Shape Circle:

Next row: CO 1 st using cable cast on. Knit new stitch, [P, K] to end (10 sts). Next row: CO 1 st using cable cast on. Purl new stitch, [K, P] to end (11 sts). Repeat last 2 rows 3 more times (17 sts). Continue in moss stitch for 8 rows. Next row: K2tog, [P, K] to last 2 sts, K2tog (15 sts). Next row: [P, K] to end. Repeat last 2 rows 2 more times (11 sts). Next row: K2tog, K to last 2 sts, K2tog (9 sts). Knit 3 rows. Shape circle 3 more times. Work 5th and final circle, but knit only one row after last decrease row. Leave remaining 9 sts on needle. Break yarn, leaving a 12” length for joining ends. Carefully remove waste yarn from cast on edge and place the 9 live sts on a needle. Arrange work so that cast on edge is behind working edge with the right side facing out, thread darning needle with working yarn, and graft live sts together. Darn in ends.
