This is a wonderful project for a beginning knitter that uses simple pattern repetition. Decrease rounds are written out with stitch counts at the end of each round to keep on track. The beginning knitter will also gain proficiency with k2tog.
Stitches used:
1x1 Rib - knit 1, purl 1 around Stst - Stockinette Stitch - knit every round K2tog - knit two stitches together Seed Stitch - Row 1: k1, p1 around Row 2: p1, k1 around Repeat rows 1 & 2 for specified length or number of rows
Directions:
With smaller sized needles, CO 84 with a stretchy cast on such as Jenny's Super Stretchy Cast On. Place marker. Continue knitting in the round. Brim: 1x1 rib for 2.5" (3 cm)
