Conundrum Scarflette

A scarf or shawlette that may be made using any type of yarn and any size needle. The design is reversible and is worked from one end to the other. Gauge does not matter; choose a needle size that produces your preferred fabric! For the scarflette shown above you will require:- 125g/360 yards of Rico Creative Reflection (4 ply) 3.25 mm/US 3 Needles
Abbreviations:-
K =Knit YRN = Yarn round needle (yarn over needle) creates a new stitch K2tog = Knit 2 stitches together as one Inc. 1 = Make one stitch by picking up the loop before the next stitch and knitting it
Instructions
Cast on 5 stitches.
Tapered Section
Row 1: K1, yarn round needle, K2 together, yarn round needle, K2 (6 stitches). Row 2, 4, 6, 8: Knit all stitches. Row 3: K2, YRN, K2 together, YRN, K2 (7 stitches). Row 5: K3, YRN, K2tog, YRN, K2 (8 stitches). Row 7: K4, YRN, K2tog, YRN, K2 (9 stitches). Row 9: K5, YRN, K2tog, YRN, K2 (10 Stitches). Row 10: Cast off (or bind off if in US) 5 stitches, knit to end. (5 stitches remain). Repeat these 10 rows twice more (there will be 3 'points' on the garment now).
Pattern Rows
\*Row 1: Knit to the last 4 stitches, inc. 1 stitch, knit to end. Row 2: Knit to end. w 3, 5, 7, 9, 11: Knit to the last 4 stitches, YRN, K2tog, YRN, K2 Row 4, 6, 8, 10: Knit to end. Row 12: Cast off (bind off) 5 stitches, knit to end. \*\* These 12 rows from \* to \*\* form the pattern rows and give an increase of one stitch after each point' of the edging. Continue repeating these 12 rows until your scarflette is half your required length. The one I have made required an increase to 45 stitches. This is the halfway mark.
Decrease Rows
Row 1: Knit to last 4 stitches, K2tog, K2 Row 2: Knit to end. w 3, 5, 7, 9, 11: Knit to the last 4 stitches, YRN, K2tog, YRN, K Row 12: Cast off (bind off) 5 stitches, knit to end. Repeat these rows until you are back to 5 stitches. Work the initial 10 rows of the scarf to finish with 3 edging points, as for the Tapered Section. Cast off (bind off) and sew in ends @
