The outcome of itis a shoulder shaping. This style of a shawl is called faroese. Description: Cast on 2 stitches with provisional cast on und knit as charted. On row 37 knit the two stitches, knit 1 stitch from the side of every ridge ( 17 stitches,knithetwocast onstitches $(=21$ stitchesOnlytheright siderowsarechartedurlacrossallstitchesonthewrongsideasyousee them:Purlthroughbacklooponthewrong side forstitchesknited throughbackloopon theright sidenit the selvedestitchesonright side rowsandonwrongsiderows. After row 196 knit the edging pattern across the main body of the shawl as charted. Edging: Cast on6 additional stitchsKnit in every right side row the last the stch(es) of theedging togetherwith themainbody.Worktheedging as written inthe edging chart. Knit 4 rows. Work row 5 and 6 until there are only 2 stitches of the main body left. Then knit 4 rows and bind offthe last wrongsiderowloosely. Finishing: Weave in all ends. Carefully wet block the shawl. You can also knit the shawl with different yarn. Then take notice to knit some needlesizes bigger, as recommend forthe yarn.
