Ponchotto
by Francesca Caricato

A sort of little poncho, a wrap for the shoulders leaving your arms free. I knitted it in a few hours with a tussah and merino handspun yarn and big needles, in order to get a very soft and elastic accessory. You need: - 150gr handspun yarn (5.3oz) 160/180m (175/195 yards) - circular needles 10mm /US15 and 12mm/US17 80 cm / 32" and 60 cm /24" long - 5 markers Gauge and measures are not fundamental. Cast on 120 sts with the largest needles (10mm neeedles if you prefer a regular edge). Place the first marker and work circular Round 1 - 8 garter st. (1 round knit, 1 round purl) Round 9 - K27, K2togB, PM2, K1, PM3, K2tog, K55, K2togB, PM4, K1, PM5, K28 Round 10 - Purl Change needles (10mm/US15). Round 11-14 stockinette st. (knit all)

Round 15 - knit to last 2 before M2, K2togB, slip M2, K1, slip M3, K2tog, knit to last 2 before M4, K2togB, slip M4, K1, slip M5, knit to M1 Repeat this round 15 times again . When you consider it worthwhile, replace the long cable with the short one. Change needles (12mm/US17) and work 6 or 8 garter st. rounds. Cast off. M1 = first marker (the beginning and the end of the round) PM2 = place M2 (the second marker) K2tog = knit the next two stitches together as one K2togB = the same, but take the two stitches from the back ?
