Zanni
This little scarf was designed to use up that one skein of something precious in your stash. In my case,it was a skein of Colinette Tao. Unable to find a pattern perfect for the harlequin colors of my skein, I whipped up this speedy knit. Zanni's fanciful zig-zag looks as tricky as its namesake (the saucy servant of Commedia dellarte), but it's easy as can be. Yarn: Approximately 125 yds of any fingering-weight yarn. I used Colinette Tao $100\%$ sillk, 126 yards/ skein), colorway "Mardi Gras." Needles: US size 5/3.75mm Size: Approximately 44 inches long and 5.25 inches wide when blocked. Setup: Cast on 26 stitches. Work four rows garter stitch (knit all stitches). Begin chart at row one and work as follows: k3, knit row one of chart, k3. (Each row begins and ends with three knit stitches, which are not charted.) Work row two (and all even rows) as follows: k3, p20, k3. Even rows are not charted. Repeat rows 1-16 of chart fourteen times, or until scarf is desired length.

Work four rows garter stitch. Bind offloosely. Finishing: Wash and block as desired. Find me on Ravelry as Lanafactrix or email me at lanafactrix@gmail.com with questions, comments, or concerns.
