With blue yarn, cast-on 96 stitches. place marker, and join for knitting in the round. Round $1:^{*}\mathsf{k}1,\mathsf{p}2^{*}$ to end of round. Work in 1X2 ribbing by repeating round 1 until hat measures 5,5 cm (about 21/6 inches). Knit 4 rounds in Garter stitch (creating 2 ridges) Switch to stockinette stitch (knit all rounds) and continue until hat measures 4,92 inches $(=12,5\mathsf{c m})$ fromcast on edge. Now, Switch to stockinette stitch with black yarn until hat measures 5.51 inches $(=\!14\mathsf{c m})$ Decrease top of hat as follows : Round 1: \*k2tog, $k8^{*}$ , repeat until 4 stitches remains, Knitl. Round 2-4 : knit. Round 5: \*k2tog, $k7^{*}$ repeat until 3 stitches remains, Knit1. Round 6 and all even rounds : knit. Round 7: \*k2tog, $k6^{*}$ repeat until 2 stitches remains, Knit1.
