DNA Marker Socks

Ankle: 9 inches unstretched Length: custom MATERIALS Plymouth Yarn Happy Feet [90% superwash merino, 10% nylon; 192yds/m per 50g skein]; color: 10; 2 skeins 1 set(s) US #2/2.75mm double-point needles tapestry needle stitch marker (optional) GAUGE 26.5 sts/40 rows = 4" in unstretched ribbing stitch PATTERNNOTES Feel Good Knitting's list of standard abbreviations can be found here. Colorway is important for achieving the DNA test effect in this pattern. Using a different yarn will result in a perfectly lovely ribbed sock, but will not create the effect shown in photos. PATTERN Cuff CO60sts Round 1: \*P2, K1, P2, K4, P2, K1\* repeat to end. Repeat this round for 5 inches or to desired length.
Heel Flap
K N1 onto already worked N4, continuing ribbed pattern. 30 sts on N4 Cont ribbed pattern across N4 for 2.5 inches, sl first st of every row. End with a WS row.
Turn Heel
Switch to St st. Row 1: K16, K2tog, K1, turn. Row 2: Sl 1, P5, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 3: Sl 1, K6, K2tog, K1, turn. Row 4: Sl 1, P7, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 5: Sl 1, K8, K2tog, K1, turn. Row 6: Sl 1, P9, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 7: Sl 1, K10, K2tog, K1, turn. Row 8: Sl 1, P11, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 9: Sl 1, K12, K2tog, K1, turn. Row 10: Sl 1, P13, P2tog, P1, turn. Row 11: Sl 1, K14, K2tog, K1, turn. Row 12: Sl 1, P15, P2t0g, P1, turn. 18 sts remain
Gusset

K to middle of N4. On a new needle, k across the rem 9 heel sts, pm. This is new beg of rnd. Pick up and k 11 more on same needle. K across the 2 instep needles in ribbing pattern. On new needle, pick up and k11 sts, then k the 9 rem heel stitches. 20 sts on N1 and N4; 15 sts on N2 and N3. K one rnd. Gusset Decreases: Round 1: K to last 3 sts of N1, k2tog, k1; work in pattern across instep; on N4, k1, ssk, k to end. Round 2: K N1 and N4; work in pattern across instep needles. Rep these two rnds until 6o sts rem.
Foot
