Size: TBD by Knitter (at least 44” across top) Materials: 1 balls Knit Picks Palette Opal Heather (231 yds per ball) Color A 1 ball Knit Picks Palette Ivy 50 g (231 yds) Color B 1 ball Knit Picks Palette White50 g (231 yds) Color C\*\* \*\*Any fingering-weight yarn willdo and any 2 colors (one medium and one dark shade of the same color) and white One long #9 circular needle Stitch markers Tapestry needle Abbreviations: K=Knit P = Purl M1 = Make a st in st just knitted by knitting in the front of the stitch and then knitting again in theback Instructions: Round 1: With color A, CO22 sts: 5 steek stitches, place marker, 3 sts, place marker, 3 sts, place marker, 3 sts, place marker, 3 sts, place marker, 5 steek sts, place marker. Join to work in the round taking care not to twiststs. ROW 2 of CHART A: Add Color B, and using both colors per chart, K5 steek sts, \*slip marker, K1 M1, k1, K1 M1. Repeat to last marker, slip marker, K5 stek sts. This completes the first round, which is designated as round 2 on the chart. (30 sts total) Each chart wedge is repeated 4 times, for 4 pie-shaped wedges. Continue following CHART A to desired length. On last round, BO steek sts at beginning and end of round. Then, detach Colors B and C, and using Color A, knit several rows, back and forth to form a garter st edge, increasing at markers as you have been. Finishing: Carefully machine or hand-stitch steek sts, on each side, close to the fabric. Open steek by cutting down the center of the sts. Trim close to machine basting. The edges will naturally roll under. No need to hem! Tie and weave in or trim all color change ends. Wash and block flat. CHART A
