Thank you for supporting Yarn Tails! Using single strand of yarn, cast on in preferred method. (I used E-wrap simple cast on.) Row 1: E-wrap pegs around loom two more times. You'llnow have three loops on each peg. (You will be doing a 1 over 2 knit for the brim.) Bring botom loop up over the top two loops and offthe peg. Rows 2 - 8: E-wrap pegs again to create three loops on pegs. Work as for Row 1. Fold work up toward the inside and bring beginning loops over corresponding pegs to form brim. Knit off. Row 9: Now working with two loops only: Bring bottom stitch up over and off peg, leaving only one loop on each peg. Rows 10 - 13: Work flat knit stitch of 1 over 1. Rows 14 - 16: Purl each row. Rows 17 - 21: Work flat knit stitch; same as Rows 10 - 13. Rows 22 - 24: Purl each row. Rows 25 - 37: Work flat knit stitch again. Finishing: Leaving a long tail for stitching closed, cut working yarn. Thread yarn needle with working yarn. Insert needle into each stitch on peg around, going from bottom to top. Remove each stitch from pegs, and gently pull working yarn to close gap at the top of hat. If desired, add pompom to top.
