To make up
Body: starting at the drawn up edge, secure and then join the row ends, stuff then gather up the stitches along the cast on edge. Head: starting at the drawn up edge, secure and then join the row ends, stuff then gather up the stitches along the cast on edge. Legs & feet: firstly, cut out of the stiff card, two circles 2" (50mm) in diameter. Starting at the foot end, join the foot into a circle, spread a little clear glue on one side of the card circle and glue it into the circle, allow to dry, then join the row ends of the leg. Using three of the 2 inch (50mm) lengths of plastic straw, cut down the length of two of them and slip them inside the un- cut length, this will now be nice and stiff, place this inside the leg. Stuff around the straws. DO NOT STUFF THE FOOT. Do not close the top of the leg, make the other leg the same. Arms & hands: make up the same way as the foot and leg, only use a 7/8th of an inch (24mm) circle of card. Join the legs to the body as shown in picture 1.

Sew the bottom, insides of the feet together so they are like one piece, see picture 2.

Join the arms to the shoulders, position as shown in the main picture. Eyes: starting at the cast on edge, join the eyes to make a ball, stuff firmly then draw up the cast off edge. Sew a tiny white dot in the eye to give a highlight. Eye lids: draw up the cast off edge, and join the row ends, join the cast on edge neatly as this will be seen. Put the eyeball into the lid, and catch all around, sewing with green yarn through the row just behind the cast on edge. Attach to the head, positioning as shown in the main picture. Using black yarn and chain stitch, embroider a funny shaped mouth, using the main picture as a guide. Using black yarn, sew a straight stitch for the nose. Neck & Joining the head to the body: Using three of the 2 inch (50mm) lengths of plastic straw, cut down the length of two of them and slip them inside the un- cut length, this will now be nice and stiff. Join the row ends of the neck, wrap a little fibrefill around the straw and then insert it into the neck piece - leaving equal amounts of straw sticking out each end. Using a knitting needle the same diameter as the straw, make a hole in both the head and the centre of the shoulders. push the straws into the two holes then sew the neck to the shoulders and the head all around. See picture 3.

All done!
