Aurora Borealis Cowl (free version)

A knitting pattern by Jacquie Bird

Pattern illustration

I was inspired to write this cowl pattern to match the Aurora Borealis Beanie that I co-designed with Kelly Brooker (which can be found here on Ravelry: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/auroraborealis-beanie) This free version is written as a small in both a child size and an adult size, with DK weight yarn, but at a slightly looser gauge than average to emphasise the beautiful lace. I also highly recommend blocking upon completion. I hope to have the full version finished by the end of 2013, and it will include multiple sizes in three different yarn weights. [2]

For blocking I would suggest using the method found here: http://theknittingbuzz.typepad.com/the-knitting-buzz/2011/02/cowlolocking-techniques.html
