"Atka" is Inuit and means "Guardian spirit"

Material:

Yarn: Malabrigo Merino Worsted Shown color: VAA (30 [35, 40] g | 58 [67, 77] m | 63 [73, 84] yards) Needles: 1 Pair knitting needles US 6 $4.0\;\mathsf{m m})$ Gauge: 28 sts x 30 rows $=10\times10\;\mathrm{cm}$ (4 x 4 inches) in pattern Measurements after blocking: $6.5\;\mathsf{c m}\;(2.6^{\prime\prime})$ wide. Circumference size S: $40\;\mathsf{c m}$ $\langle{16^{\prime\prime}}\rangle$ to fit head circ. $45-50c m$ $(18-20^{\prime\prime})$ Circumference size M: $46\;\mathsf{c m}$ $\left[18^{\prime\prime}\right)$ to fit head circ. $50-55\;\mathrm{cm}$ $(20-22^{\prime\prime})$ Circumference size L: 51 cm $(20^{\prime\prime})$ to fit head circ. 55 - 60 cm $(22-24^{\prime\prime})$

Instructions:

CO 21 sts with a provisional CO method and work Setup Chart (next page). Right side rows marked white, read from right to left. The yellow marked rows show the wrong side, read from left to right. Note: Read chart as shown, not reversible. Work Chart A 6 [7, 8] times. For Size S and M work Chart B. For Size L work only row 3 of Chart B. With smaller needles pick up 21 sts from provisional CO. Hold fabrics together, with wrong side facing you and use a 3 needle bind off to close headband. Block the headband, wear and enjoy! :-)
