SLOUCHY HAT
Using smaller circular needle, C0 96 sts. Place marker and join in the round. Begin Twisted Rib pattern. TWISTED RIB PATTERN \*Ktbl1, p1; rep from \*to end. Repeat until hat measures 1 inch from CO edge. Switch to larger needle and work increase round as follows: $^{\star}{\sf k}8$ $\mathsf{m}\mathsf{1}^{\star}$ (12 times), $k8$ [108 sts on needle]. Begin Clover Lace pattern.
CLOVER LACE PATTERN
Round 1: $\mathrm{^\stark1}$ . yo, k1, yo, k4, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k3\*. Round 2 and all even rounds: Knit. Round 3: $^{\star}{\sf k}1$ [yo, k3] twice, sl 1, k2tog, psso, $k2^{*}$ Round 5: $^{\star}{\sf k}1$ , yo, k5, yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1\*. NEEDLES
Suggested: US Size 7 and 8 $4.5\;\mathsf{m m}$ and $5\:\mathsf{m m}$ 16" circular needles and US 8 (5 mm) double-pointed needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

Fits up to a 22-inch head circumference.

BLOCKING
Soak hat in water, adding gentle wool wash if desired, for at least 20 minutes. Rinse and wrap in towel to remove excess water. Lay flat and smooth into circular beret shape. Leave in place until dry. Trim yarn ends and wear fabulously.
