HYBRID SOCKS
These were made from my brother in law Erik. He wanted socks that where "wearers" not "lookers". I think this combines a little of both!
Size 7 dpns
1 skein Berrocco Comfort (worsted weight) CO 40 stitches, distribute on 3 dpns (10 stitches needles 1 and 3, 20 stitches needle 2) Join in round and K1, P1 ribbing for 1 inch Start pattern for body: (pattern worked in multiples of 5) Row 1 : \*K1 through the back loop, P1, K2, P1 (\*repeat to end) Row 2: \* K1 through the back loop, P1, K2, P1 (\*repeat to end) Row 3: \*K1 through the back loop, P4 (\*repeat to end) Row 4: \*K1 through the back loop, P4 (\*repeat to end) Repeat these 4 rows until the body is the length you want.
Heel:
Row 1: Sl1, P to end Row 2: \* Sl1, K1 (\*repeat to end) Repeat these 2 rows 10 times each Turn Heel: P12, P2tog, P1, turn Sl1, K5, K2tog, K1, turn Sl1, P6, P2tog, P1, turn Continue repeating short rows until all stitches have been worked (12 stitches remaining) Gusset: PU 12 stitches along heel flap edge Knit across needle 2 PU 12 stitches along other heel flap and K6 from heel needle, slip remaining 6 heel stitches onto needle with 12 stitches you picked up. This is now Needle 1. Needle 1: K6, K12 through the back loop Needle 2: K all stitches Needle 3: K12 through the back loop, K6 Gusset Decrease: Needle 1: K to last 3st, k2tog, K1 Needle 2: K all stitches Round 2: Knit all stitches oeat rounds 1 and 2 until there are 10 stitches on Needles 1 and 3 Foot: Knit across all needles until the foot is 2 inches less than the desired foot length. Foot Decreases: Round 1: Needle 1: K to last 3 st, K2tog, K1 Needle 2: K1, SSK, K to last 3 st, K2tog, K1 Needle 3: K1, SSK, K to end Round 2: Knit across all needles Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until there are 4 stitches on Needles 1 and 3 and 8 stitches on Needle 2. Bind off with Kitchener Stitch or 3 Needle Bind Off
