Single Grochet

This joining technique can be used to join any motifs (squares, triangles, etc). For this tutorial, the African Flower Hexagon was used. The first step is to make your desired motifs. Then, when you are ready to join them together follow the directions provided, below. · sc around first motif (i.e. Motif #1) with (sc, ch 1, sc) into each corner. · With next motif (i.e. Motif #2), sc around motif to the corner where motifs need to be joined, ch 1 [Figure 1]. Drop loop from hook. Insert hook from front to back into corner of Motif #1. Pull up dropped loop through this corner [Figure 2 & 3]. sc into corner of Motif #2 [Figure 4]. ·Drop loop from hook. Insert hook from front to back into corresponding sc in Motif #1. Pull up dropped loop through this sc [Figures 5 & 6]. Sc into dc (i.e. next st) of Motif #2 [Figure 7]. Drop loop from hook. Insert hook from front to back into corresponding sc in Motif #1. Pull up dropped loop through this sc [Figures 8 & 9]. · Continue in the above manner until motifs are joined [Figure 10]. · Complete the sc stitches around Motif #2 & fasten off [Figures 11 & 12].
