Valerie Baber Designs 2013 TM designed by Valerie Baber Designs, www.vbaberdesigns.com 1 skein of Malabrigo Mecha Merino Wool. This one is done in the Volcan Colour #227 Gauge of yarn: 11 to 13 sts = 4 inches, Final product was 18 inches long and 3.5 inches tall with my tension and needle choice. Yours may vary slightly depending on your choices of needles and your tension. My gauge was 13 stitches and 20 rows with stocking stich in 4 inches. Needle: I used a 7 mm or a 10.75 US needle to work this pattern. Adjust your tension or needle size to accommodate the gauge. The Rachelle Chunky Ear Warmer is one of my free pattens for you to enjoy. The only request I have with my free patterns is you “Passit Forward". Either make one for someone in need, charities, or do something nice for someone else and pass the gift of helping others forward. I hope you enjoy making this easy Rachelle Chunky Ear Warmer. This pattern in done in the round and instructions are all with right side facing you. If you want to work it on straight needles you will have to change the pattern, just remember to always look at the pattern on the right side as follows: Always working with Right Side facing as you are working in the round. Cast on 60 Stitches. Row 1: Work 1 row of Knit Row 2: Work 1 row of Purl Rows 3 & 4: Knit, Row 5: Purl, Repeat rows 3, 4 and 5 for 5 more sets. (6 sets total) Row 19; Knit, Row 20: Cast offin purl stitch so you get a purled edge on the finishing row. Fasten off and sew in yarns. Cast off in purl stitch so that you get a nice purl edge at the end. n Band: Working on a straight needle or use your round needle as you would a straight needle Band: Cast on 20 sts. (RS is right side and WS is wrong side) Row 1: RS, Knit, Row 2: WS, Knit. These 2 rows form garter stitch. Continue in garter stitch as above and repeat 2 more times (3 sets total) Row 7: RS, Knit, Row 8: WS, cast off in knit stitch so you have a nice purled edge on the right side of work. Wrap the knitted band around the ear warmer as shown in the picture, sew edges together and sew button on through to back of the ear warmer so it is secure. Most of all enjoy this pattern and please “Pass it Forward". @ Valerie Baber Designs 2013 TM
