INSTRUCTIONS

This center ofthe pattern is worked using the magic loop. As the number of stitches on your needle grows, switch to normal knitting in the round, and then switch to a longer cable when it feels comfortable. Interchangeable needles are great for this blanket.

Setup

Cast on 8 sts using the disappearing loop method. Pullthe cable through so you have 4 sts on each needle. Round 1 - K2, pm, k2, pm, k2, pm, k2, pm Round2-Betweeneachmarker work: K1, m1r, kto marker, mil, slip marker (8 total increases) Round 3 - Knit all sts 16 sts total.

FIRST DECORATIVE ROUND

Repeat instruction between each marker (work 4 times per round) Round 1 -K1, m1r, k to marker, mal, slip marker. (8 total increases) Round 2 - P2, sl3 wyif, p1, slip marker Round 3 - Repeat round 1 Round 4- P3, sl3 wyif, p2, slip marker

Body

Repeat the following until your work is the size you like, you run out of yarn, or you get tired of knitting. The sample is 6 repeats. Work three repeats ofthe Stockinette rounds and then onerepeat ofthe Decorative Rounds.

STOCKINETTE ROUNDS

Between each marker work: K1, m1r, k to marker, mil, slip marker (8 totalincreases) Knit all sts

DECORATIVE ROUNDS

Repeat instruction between each marker (work 4 times per round) Round 1 -K1, m1r, kto marker, mil, slip marker. (8 total increases) Round 2 - P2, \*sl3 wyif, p2,\* sl3 wyif, p1, slip marker - Repeat from \* to \* until 4 sts remain before marker Round 3- Repeat round 1 Round 4 - P3, \*sl 3 wyif, p2\* - Repeat from \* to \* until marker

Finishing

Work 2 repeats of the stockinette rounds Purl one round. Bind off knit-wise. Weave in ends and block.

Finished Size

34"/86 cm square, as knit in the sample. This pattern can easily be sized up or down based upon the amount of yarn and needle sizes you have available. You can easily continue to add more repeats or stop sooner,based uponpersonal preference and supplies.
