Materials:

Rogue Adventures Spin to Knit Fair Isle Kit US Size #8, 16 inch circular needles. US Size #8, double pointed needles. Gauge after blocking: 5.5 stitches per inch.

Spinning your yarn:

Make a two ply light worsted weight yarn measuring 11 wraps per inch. Set the twist. I spun mine worsted draw. Sample your weight by spinning a little bit of singles, pull a couple feet of the bobbin and let them spin back on themselves, check you wraps per inch. Adjust the singles spinning thickness if necessary. When your yarn is finished set the twist and let dry to begin knitting. When you finish spinning your four mini braids of fiber you will have four mini skeins of yarn. Color A - main color. Color B - second rib color. Color C - background of the snowflake pattern. Color D - snowflake color. Cast on: 96 stitches with color A, using the long tailed cast on. Place a marker and join in the round being careful not to twist you stitches. Rows 2-6: K2 with color A, P2 with color B\*repeat around. Row 7: Knit a round with color A. Rows 8-9: Knit following Chart B using colors B&C. Row 10: Knit a round with color A. Row 11: Knit a round with Color C. Rows 12 -26: Knit following Chart A using colors C&D Row 27: Knit one round with color C. Row 28: knit a round with color A. Change to color A, continue knitting until your hat measures 6.5 inches from the bottom edge. Begin decrease rows: Row 7: \*K3, K2tog\* repeat around. Row 8: \*K2, K2tog\* repeat around. Row 9: \*K1, K2tog\* repeat around. Rows 10-11: \*K2tog\* repeat around. Cut yarn leaving a 6 inch tail and pull it through the remaining stitches. Weave in all your ends and make a pom-pom with your remaining yarn. Attach it to the top of your hat. Chart B
