Special Stitches

Puff Stitch = Yarn over (yo), insert the hook in the stitch, yo, draw the yarn through the stitch, yo, and draw the yarn through the 2 loops on the hook. 2 loops remain on the hook. Material

250 gramm cotton 50g/115m beige or 250 gramm Acrylic 50g/133m each for hook 3-4mm For the eyes a little bit of white and for the mouth a little bit of rose · 2 safety eyes 1,6 cm diameter Sewing yarn for the eyelash and dollhair or some boucle yarn Stuffmaterial Hook 2,5 mm Hook 2,0 mm Notice The baby willbe worked general with hook 2,5 mm. If you use a yarn with other specification please note: use a hook on size smaller than the advice of the yarn description. I be worked in continuous rounds. Please mark the beginning of each roun You have to count the stitches very carefully.

Slip Stitches

In this pattern we use slip stitches very often. It's important that you work this slip stitches very very loosely. If you work it to tight you will get some Problems to work these stitches in the next round.

Please note that some of the pictures in this pattern are from baby Emily or Louis and not from Louis. They are only to show you how to work. We start with the arms. Therefore we need 2 elbows, 6 middle fingers, 2 thumbs and 2 little fingers.

Both arms will be made identical Sew the fingers together, each on one stitch

Now we work the body therefore we need first 2 leg For the legs we need 2 knees, 2 parts for the buttocks, 3 middle toes, 2 little toes and 2 big toes. knee

Now we make the toes. I worked it in rounds. But it's very tricky, that's why I show you how to work it in rows. But feel free to work it in rounds if you like, then make 4 sc and work it in rounds as the numbers of rows mentioned below. middle toes

This round is longer and ends not on the marker. 36 sc, work with 7 sc the arms and the body together (beginning in the 8 free stitch of arm), 31 sc, work with 7 sc the next arm to the body (beginning in the 4th stitch before the end stitch), 17 sc new round beginn

For the head we need 1 part for the inside of the mouth, 1 part for the inside of the nose, 2 pupils and 2 ears mouthpart

Secure the safety eyes in the middle of the eyes white

Now we finished the eyes, nose and the mouth Eyes Hold the eyes from inside the head to the opening for the eyes. After you find the right position secure the eyes and sew it Sew the eyes to the head. Make the stitches one round before the eye opening so that you form an eyelid.

Canthus: prick through the last stitch, the ch that is behind the eyes and the first stitch of the upper eyelid

Now we modelizing the nose. Make a stitch in the last of the 7 ch, make 3 chains and then a slst in the middle of the 7 ch, then again 3 chain and a slst in the first of the 7 ch. Finish leave a long tail

Now sew the first 5 stitches around the first chain space, the 6th stitch you sew to the slst between the both chain spaces, and then sew the last 5 stitches around the second chainspace.

To secure the form of the nose we sew the nosepart from the inside of the head. Therefore we place it from behind in the nose. Then we sew it to the nose, beginning in the marked stitch .... Now sew each stitch from one side to the other. Don't draw the tail to tight.

Last we sew the nosepart from inside to the edge of the nose

I decided to give my baby a upturned nose How I make it you can see in the following pictures

Mouth

With red yarn Mund Start on the top lip in the backloop only in the first free stitch. 1 slst, 4 hdc, 1 sc, 4hdc, 1 slst finish off

Start new on the underlip with 1 slst, 3hdc, 1sc, 3hdc, 1slst finish off

Now we sew the mouthpart to the head. le part from inside the head and position it to the top lip. Sew it on the top li

Now sew the other side to the underlip Before we close both open sides of the mouthpart we pull the top lip out of the head.

Hold the top lip outside of the head, then sew both open sides of the mouthpart

Finish off.

I sewed the eylashes with sewing yarn, but feel free to use false eyelashes. draw the needle to the stitch and then work through the loop and then through the next stitch til the end of the lid

You can also make again some changes to the nose if you are not satisfied with it. I draw the bridge of the nose a litle bit inside ... therefore I go with the needle from the end of the head through the head to the nose, make on stitch at the bridge and go back through the head to the end of it.

eyebrows

Hold the Ears to the head (approx. 8-10 st from the eye) secure it. Sew the ear to the head only on the straight side (means the slst) as shown on the first picture. Then sew it around the 6inc.

e head to the body (Head round 49) and stuff again before you finally close

For the hair I used boucle yarn that I tie to the head.
