Yarn: The Knitting Goddess 4ply High Twist Sock Yarn 80% merino, 20% nylon Needles: 2.5mm 80cm circular needles or DPNs or size needed to get gauge. You will need a tapestry needle and a cable needle if you don't want to use the 'cable without a needle' technique. Gauge: 36 sts/50 rows = 4" in st st Sizes: Foot circumference: Small - Small- Foot circumference 7.5 inches (Medium - 8.5 inches, Large - 9.5 inches) Abbreviations K: Knit K2tog: Knit two stitches together as one stitch Kwise: Knitwise, as if to knit N: Needle P: Purl Pwise: Purlwise, as if to purl P2tog: Purl two stitches together as one stitch RS: Right side of work Sl: Slip the next stitch from left to right purl-wise. Ssk: Slip one stitch as if to knit, slip the next stitch as if to knit, insert left needle into front of these two stitches and knit them together. St: stitch Tbl: through the back loop WS: Wrong side of work Wyib: with yarn in back Wyif: with yarn in front Yo: Yarn over 1/1 LPC: Slip next st to cable needle and place at front of work, p1, then k1 from cable needle 1/1 RPC: Slip next st to cable needle and place at back of work, k1, then p1 from cable needle 1/1 RC: Slip next st to cable needle and place at back of work, k1, then k1 from cable needle 1/1 LC: Slip next st to cable needle and place at front of work, k1, then k1 from cable needle Small - work stitches between the red lines only. Medium - Work stitches between the blue lines only. Large - work all stitches There are different charts for the left and right socks. Work round 1 of Front Chart C across the first 32(36,40) stitches, work round 32 Back Chart B once more across second 32(36,40) stitches. Heel Flap Heel Flap & turn will be worked back and forth on the on the second half sts of the round. Turn work so ws is facing. Work Heel Chart for your size, beginning with a WS row. Repeat whole chart 6 times, then work row 1 once more. Heel Turn Row 1 (RS): Sl1 wyib, k18 (20, 22), ssk, k1, turn Row 2: Sl1 wyif, p7, p2tog, p1, turn. Row 3: Sl1 wyib, k to 1 st before gap, ssk, k1, turn. Row 4: Sl1 wyif, p to 1 st before gap, p2tog, p1, turn. Continue to work Front chart C across instep sts. Pick up and k1 in each slipped stitch along edge of heel flap. K to end of sole sts. Start of round is at start of instep sts. Gusset round 1: Continue to work Front chart A across instep sts; Ssk, knit until 2 stitches remain,k2tog. Gusset rnd 2: Continue to work Front chart A across instep sts; knit to end. Repeat these 2 rnds until 64 (72, 80) sts remain; 32 (36, 40) each on sole and instep. Foot Continue to work Front chart A across instep sts; knit to end. Work in this way until Front chart C is complete. Wait patiently for next week!
