Cucumber Hill

Cucumber Hill is a warm, textured hat. Ribs and cabling keep the knitting interesting and chunky yarn makes it fast. Knit one for yourself or for a gift. Yarn is 100% Ilama from Lladylove Llamas in Foster, Rl. Gauge: 12 sts/ 16 rows over 4"/10 cm in stockinette stitch Shown in: 100% Illama yarn from Lladyove llamas, 2.7 oz., 80 yds. Needles: Size US 10/6.0 mm 16" circular needle or size to obtain gauge. Stitch marker Cable needle Yarn needle
Abbreviations
K -Knit RC- Slip 2 sts to cable needle, hold to back, k2, k2 from cable needle. P-Purl k2tog- knit 2 together sts-stitches rep-repeat
Directions
Note: Directions are written as small (large). Using circular needle, cast on 60 (70) stitches. Being careful not to twist stitches, join for working in the round. Place marker for working in the round. Begin working broken rib pattern: Rounds 1-4: \*K4, p2, k2, p2; repeat from \* to end of round. Round 5: \*RC, p2, k2, p2; repeat from \* to end of round. Rounds 6-8: Repeat Rnd 1. Rounds 9: \*P1, k2, p2, k4, p1; repeat from \* to end of round. Rounds 10-12: Repeat Rnd 9. Round 13: \*P1, k2, p2, RC, pl; repeat from \* to end of round. Rounds 14-16: Repeat Rnd 9. Decrease for crown: Round 2: Knit. Round 5: \*K1, k2tog; rep from \* to end of round. 24(28) sts remain. Round 6: Knit. Round 7: \*K2tog; rep from \* to end of round. 12 (14) sts remain. Break yarn leaving 8" tail. Use yarn needle to thread tail through remaining stitches. Pull tight and fasten tail to inside of hat. Block lightly as needed.
