Collar: Row 1: K1, $\ast\mathrm{YO}$ , K2, S11, K2tog, PSSO, K2, YO, K1. Repeat from \* Row 2, 4 & 6: P allstitches Row 3: K1, $\ast_{\mathrm{K1}}$ , YO, K1, Sl1, K2tog, PSSO, K1, YO, K2. Repeat from \* Row5: K1, $\ast_{\mathrm{K}\mathrm{2}}$ , YO, Sl1, K2tog, PSSO, YO, K3. Repeat from \* All sizes: cast on 49. Work Lace pattern for 2 repeats, or 12 rows. When unsure of baby's gender, you can make buttonholes at both sides, then stitch buttons over the unused buttonholes after the baby's gender is known. K across left front stitches, ending before $1^{\mathrm{st}}$ "seam" stitch, place these on a holding string, or leave on circular needle, but do not work them for now. Work only on left sleeve stitches, from seam stitch to seam stitch, work in stockinette stitch until sleeve measures $5\,^{1}\!/_{2}^{\,^{99}}\left(6^{\circ},7^{\circ}\right)$ from shoulder. Then work 7 rows garter stitch (k all rows) and bind off. Attach yarn and K across back stitches then place them on a holding string, or leave on circular needle, but do not work them for now. K stitches of right sleeve, from seam stitch to seam stitch, work stockinette stitch to same length as left sleeve, then garter stitch 7 rows and bind off. Attach yarn at right side of right front, K across, then turn and work across wrong side (K4, P across), putting back and left front back on needles to rejoin body of sweater. Work in stockinette until sweater is approx $5.5^{\circ}(6^{\circ},6.5^{\circ})$ in length (or $1^{\circ}$ less than desired length). Then garter stitch 7 rows and bind off on right side. Sew underarm seams, add buttons, or a crocheted chain beginning and ending with a ring of 10-12 crocheted chain stitches can be used for a tie in the eyelets at the collar.
