Tension/Gauge
26sts x38 rows to 10cm square (4") over ripple pattern Note: In this pattern I have used yarn-overs to make an easy increase that doesn't pull tight or pull up a different colour from the previous row. Knit into the back of the YO on the following row to re-twist it and prevent a hole. But you can increase your favourite way if you prefer instead of the (k1, Yo) on Row 1, then knit 3 rows plain.
Instructions
Cast on 144 stitches in Colour 1. K 1 row then start patt from Row 2 the first time only. Pattern repeat of 4 rows: Row 1: \* (K2tog) twice, K3, (yo, k1) 4 times, k3, (k2tog) twice], repeat from \* to end of row Row 2: K across all sts, knitting into the back of each YO from the previous row to twist it so it does NoT make a hole. Rows 3 and 4: K all sts. Rows 5 to 8: Repeat Rows 1-4. Cut off Colour 1 and start colour 2. Work Rows 1-8. Continue working 8 rows in each colour until you have done 5 repeats of each colour, or 35 stripes, or 280 rows. Cast off in the final colour. Darn in the ends carefully into their own colours on the back.
