Charted Instructions Cast on 23 sts loosely for a $8\mathrm{x}60^{\mathfrak{N}}$ Scarf, or, for a $12\mathrm{x}72^{\circ}$ Scarf, cast on 33 sts (I use a long tail caston over two needles held together). Knit two rows. Follow chart, beginning with the Prep row. Repeat rows 1-3 for pattern until 60" (or 72") long, ending with row 3. Knit one row, making sure to drop each second yo. Knit one row. Bind off loosely. I have charted more than the pattern repeats to help visualize the trefoil pattern. Notice the trios of double yo's, they are also visible in the large picture on the previous page.

This pattern was adapted from Barbara Walker's Grand Trefoil Lace.
