Bonnet Dentelle
First, let me apologize, as I'm not a native English speaker ; but I hope you will still be able to enjoy this pattern, yarn : 30g Calin by Fonty (1875m/250g, 100% linen). If you can't find it, a #20 cotton thread or a laceweight might be lovely. Hook : 1,5mm. Please keep in mind this is only a suggestion. I'm a very loose crocheter, so you may have to use a larger hook. The important thing is to get gauge with the hook of your choice. Gauge : width of the spider motif : 6,5cm (2,56 ") Length of two spider motives : 7cm (2,76")
Special stitches :
Clones knot : There are several ways to achieve it. Maire Treanor's way in particular is interesting, you can watch it on this Youtube video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UysNxGliNBk But my way of choice is this one : begin with a length of chain stitches (5 in our case, but it can be longer), yo , catch the thread under the chain, repeat these two steps twice (one can repeat them more if desired). The starting chain is then covered by yo and loops, all you've got to do is a slip stitch in the first uncovered chain stitch to seal the knot, If you need visuals, you can find one on http://www.french-knots.com/clones-knot-crochet-and-rolled-crochet-stitches/ Picot : chain 3, then a slip sticth in the first chain stitch.
Realisation :
Spider motives strip :
Chain 23 (3 chain stitches count as first double crochet) then follow chart 1 (the key is at the end of thepattern)

Chart 1 : two spider motives Make a strip with enough motives to correspond to your head circonference (it must be a little tight) As a point of comparison, my head necessited 16 motives (56cm = 22")
Picot edging :
Turn your work at 90° and make a row constituted of three sc, then a picot, like in the following chart :

Chart 2 : Picot edging
sewing up:
sew the extremities of the spider motives strip together by making a row of sc, the wrong face of the strip facing you. Once you're finished, turn it so the inside is actually inside again and the outside is facing you,
Hat crown :
From now on the hat is crocheted in the round. Make three rounds of checkerboard dc like shown in chart 3 : \*on a spider stripe's dc post make 3dc, chain 3, miss the whole length of next dc post, repeat from \* until you've done the whole round, then close round by a ss. If you've made an even number of spider motives you'll have no problem. If you have an odd number of spider motives you'll have to add 3 chain stitches between the first and the last dc of the round. Now start the netting and Clones knot part of the crown, also shown on chart 3. \*chain 5, Clones Knot (Ck), chain 5, Ck, chain 2, miss 3dc and a 3-ch space, 1sc, Repeat from \* At the end of the round, close with a ss and ss till you are in the space between the first two Ck of the last round, and then start the next round. Always make netting by chaining 5, 1Ck, chain 5, 1Ck, chain 2, 1sc in the space between next 2 Ck. Do enough rounds to add its length to the hat. I made 8 rounds Starting the next round, ss to the space between 2 Ck, then \*1sc in the next space between 2Ck. Repeat from \*. This is a way of gathering the hat. Finish decreasing the crown by crocheting 2sc then a decrease until a very small number of stitches is left. Break thread, thread it through the remaining stitches and close the hat. Make a strong knot, weave in ends.
