MATERIALS For Bibbed Skirt; 5Ograms UK Double Knit Yarn,I used Cygnet Kiddies Couture 030 Blueberry Stripe For Short Sleeved T-Shirt ; 25grams UK Double Knit Yarn .Stylecraft Special Double Knit. For Sandals and berries ,Basket and Headscarf; 25grams each UK Double Knit Yarn in plum/denim and white. StylecraftSpecial DK For Sundress 50 grams UK Double Knit Yarn. King Cole Melody Blue. Pair size UK 3.25mm and 3.75 mm needles 2 buttons for the skirt, and 4 buttons for the back of the sweater. Gauge 5.5 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch of stocking stitch on 3.25mm needles. Please note that when I work rib I always knit in to the back of every knit stitch for a neater finish. Bibbed Skirt .Worked in one piece from the bottom up.l unwound the yarn tillI got a nice dark colour to start as a solid base, I then used the unwound scraps for the shoulder straps. Using #3.75mm needles and Cygnet DK yarn, cast on 121sts and knit 1 row. Now start the main pattern rows. Row 1. K1, \*(yrn, p1, p3tog, p1, Yon, k1 ,) repeat from \* to end. Row 2.Purl. Row3.Knit. Row 4.Purl. Rows 5 through 36, work as rows 1 through 4 Rows 37 and 38, work as rows 1 and 2.Work now measure 4.75 inches. Row 39. Decrease row. K1,\* (k2tog,) repeat from \* to end of row = 61 sts Row 40. \*(p1, k1,) repeat from \* to last stitch, p1. Row 41. \*(k1, p1,) repeat from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 42. \*(p1, k1,) repeat from \* to last stitch, p1. Row 43. \*(k1, p1,) repeat from \* to last stitch, k1. These last 4 rows establish the rib for the rest of the skirt. Row 44. Cast off 4sts ribwise, Rib 5 including stitch left on needle after cast off , Cast off 11sts ribwise, Rib 21 including stitch left on needle after cast off , Cast off 11sts ribwise, Rib 5 including stitch left on needle after cast off , Cast off 4sts ribwise. Break yarn and leave a long tail for sewing up the back seam. Place the 2 sets of 5sts on pins to be used later for the straps. Now with the right sides facing rejoin the yarn to the centre 21sts and work the bib. Rows 1 through 14, work in rib as set. Row 15. Buttonhole row. Rib 2, k2tog, YFWD, rib to the last 4sts, YFWD, k2tog, rib 2. Rows 16 through 18, work in rib as set. Cast off ribwise. With right side facing rejoin yarn to 1 of the sets of 5sts and work 44 rows in rib as set, cast off ribwise. The straps should be long enough to cross over at the back. Now work the 2nd strap the same. Sew in the ends and with right sides facing, oversew the back seam. Sew 2 buttons to the strap ends.
Raglan Sweater
Sleeves. Make 2 the same. Using size 3.25mm needles and pink double knit yarn, cast on 31sts. Row 1. \*(K1, p1,) repeat from \* to last stitch, k1. Row 2. \*(P1, k1,) repeat from \* to last stitch, p1. Rows 3 through 6, starting with a knit row work in stocking stitch. Row 7. Cast off 3 stitches knit to end = 28sts. Row 8. Cast off 3sts purl to end. =25sts Break off the yarn and leave these 25sts on a pin till later. Now work the main part in 1 piece from the bottomup. Now join in the other yarn that you wound off at the start for the ridge around the sole and using the yarn double thickness knit 2 rows. Break extra strand of yarn and continue the rest of the sandal in single thickness yarn. Row 9. Knit Row 10. Cast off 6sts knitwise, PLACE MARKER, cast off 8sts including stitch left after cast off, 1 stitch now left on needle , K3 including stitch left after cast off. TURN and work 16 rows garter stitch on these 3sts. Cast off leaving a tail for sewing strap on afterwards. Now with the wrong side facing rejoin the yarn to the remaining sts and cast off 6sts, 1 stitch now left on needle ,K3 including stitch left after cast off. TURN and work 16 rows garter stitch on these 3sts. Cast off leaving a tail for sewing strap on afterwards. Now cross the strap over to the opposite side of the shoe and stitch it to where we PLACED MARKER. Cross over the other strap and stitch it where the other marker is. Repeat this making up process on the 2nd sandal making sure to cross the straps in the opposite direction. The sandal may look squashed up at this stage but once on the doll it makes for a lovely Snug fit.
Basket
Base.Using size 3.25mm needles and double thickness of white yarn, cast on 6sts. Knit 16 rows and castoff. Basket side. Using size 3.25mm needles and double thickness of white yarn, cast on 38sts. Knit 7 rows andcast off. Handle. Using size 3.25mm needles and double thickness of white yarn, cast on 3sts. Knit 36 rows and castoff. With right sides together, oversew the row ends of the Basket sides together, form it in to a rectangle and stitch the base to the cast off row around the base. Turn it right sides out and slip stitch the handle just inside the cast on edge of the top of the basket Page 4. Berries. Make approx. 12 / 15. Using size 3.25mm needles and single thickness of plum yarn, cast on 3sts. Row 1. Increase in to each stitch. =6sts Rows 2 through 5, Knit. Row 6. \*(K2tog) repeat from \* to end. =3sts Break the yarn and thread through the 3sts, pull up tightly and oversew the row ends together. Now weave the yarn back along the oversewn seam, pullit tightly and slip stitch it back at the start of the weaving point. Secure tightly and cut ends. Roll the berry between your fingers and thumb to make a ball shape.
DRAWSTRING BAG
Cast on 18sts using size 3.25mm needles and pink / blue DK yarn Knit6rows. Next row make eyelet holes, \*(K1, YFWD, K2tog ) repeat from \* to the end of the row. Knit a further39rows Next row make eyelet holes, \*(K1, YFWD, K2tog ) repeat from \* to the end of the row. Knit 6 rows and cast off. Fold the bag in half, lining up the 2 eyelet hole rows and stitch up the side seams. Using the crochet hook, make 2 chains, one of 60 chain and one of 75 chain. Stitch the longer chain ends inside the bag at the row above the eyelet holes to make the strap. Now thread the shorter chain through the eyelet holes and attach beads as for the waistcoat. Draw this chain up slightly and tie in a bow . Headscarf or Shawl (Instructions shown inside the brackets are for the shawl) Using size 3.25mm needles and white yarn, cast on 2sts. Row 1. Knit. (Wrong side) Row 2. K1, YFWD, K1. =3sts Row 3. K1, YFWD, knit to end. =4sts Row 4. K1, YFWD, knit to end. =5sts Row 5. K1, YFWD, knit to end. =6sts Row 6. K1, YFWD, knit to end. =7sts. Row 7. K1, YFWD,\*(k2tog, YFWD,) repeat from \* to last 2sts, k2 .= 8sts Rows 8 through 47 (67) work as rows 4 through 7.=48sts (68sts) Rows 48 (68) through 50 (70) work as rows 4 through 6.=51sts (71sts) Work now measure 4.5 (7) inches from start point. Row 51 (71). Cast on 15sts for tie, now cast off these 15sts, 1 stitch left on needle, \*(YFWD, k2tog,) repeat from \* to last 2sts, k2. Row52 (72). Cast on 15sts for tie, and then cast off all sts on the row loosely. Hairband. Using size 3.25mm needles and denim colour yarn cast on 70sts. Knit 1 row and cast off loosely. Row 1. \*(K1, cast off 8sts, ) repeat from \* to end. =12sts ( on needle you will have 1 stitch at the beginning followed by 5 groups of 2sts and 1 stitch at the end). Thread yarn through these 12sts and draw up tightly to form the flower. Sew in the ends and stitch the flower to the side of the headscarf or hairband.
