Agrarian Artisan designs Rose Corsage Cuff

Suitable for a crocheter with a little experience. The Rose Corsage is approx. 12cm across and is fitted to a cuff using a brooch pin (optional). The cuff is approx. 71/2cm across and fits a wrist approx. 20cm round with 2cm overlap for the fastening.

Materials
1 skein Fyberspates Scrumptious Aran (100g/165m) - pattern uses approx. 30g, so you should make about 3 from one skein 5.5mmcrochet hook Buttons, beads or sequins for centre (sample uses 2 buttons - 3cm and 5cm across) Brooch pin Matching thread 2 snap fasteners Sewing needle Tapestry needle

Tension is not important for this design.

Instructions for corsage
Foundation: Make 6ch and form a ring with a ss 1st round 1ch, 10dc in ring, ss to 1st ch (10 sts) 2nd round 2ch, 1htr in base of 2ch, 2htr in each st to end of round, ss to 2nd ch of original 2ch 3d round 4ch, miss 1 st, 1dc in next st, [3ch, miss 1st, 1 dc in next st], repeat [] 8 times, ss to 1"t ch You now have a circle with 10 'points' made by the 3ch spaces 4thround 1 ch, (1dc, 1tr, 1ch, 1dtr, 1ch, 1tr, 1dc) in each 3ch space (i.e. 10 times), ss to 1st ch
5th round
Holding hook and yarn in front of work, 1ch, 1dc around 1"t dc from 3'd round, [2ch, 1dc around next dc from 2nd round], repeat [] 8 times, 2ch, ss to 1st dc. You now have a circle in front of the work, like the trumpet of a daffodil. You will now complete the next round by working on this circle in front of the work.
6"h round
1 ch, (1dc, 1htr, 1tr, 1htr, 1dc) in each 2ch space, (i.e. 10 times), ss to 1"t ch
7th round
Holding hook and yarn in front of work, 1ch, 1dc around 1"t dc from 3'd round, [1ch, 1dc around next dc from 2nd round], repeat [] 8 times, 1ch, ss to 1st dc.

You now have another circle in front of the work. You will now complete the next round by working on this circle in front of the work. 8th round 1ch, (1dc, 2tr, 1dc) into each 1ch space, (i.e. 10 times), ss to 1st ch and bind off

Instructions for cuff
Foundation: Make 10 ch foundation ch 1st Row (WS) 1dc in 2nd ch from hook, CL inserting hook first into same ch as previous dc, then into each of next 2 chs, \*1ch, CL inserting hook first into same ch as 3'd st of last CL, then into each of next 2 chs, repeat from \* to last ch, 1 dc into same ch as 3'd st of last CL. Turn 2nd Row (and all following rows) 1ch, 1dc into first st, CL inserting hook first into same place as previous dc, then into top of next CL then onto next 1ch space, 1ch, \*CL inserting hook first into same ch as 3'd st of last CL then into top of next CL, then into top of 1ch space, repeat from \* to working 3rd st of last CL into last dc, 1ch, 1dc into same space as last CL Repeat 2nd row until cuffis approx. 22cm long (adjust this length to suit your wrist). Fasten off.
To make up
Corsage :
Sew in loose ends with a tapestry needle. Sew buttons, beads or sequins to front of corsage with matching thread. Sew brooch pin to reverse with matching thread. Cuff: Sew in loose ends with a tapestry needle. Sew 2 snap fasteners onto each end of cuff using matching thread. Finally, attach corsage to cuff using the brooch pin. If preferred you can omit the brooch pin and simply sew the corsage to the cuff.
