When there is one stitch left on left needle, M1 and knit that last stitch from left needle. Knit next row, but note oncoming wrapped stitches (after half a way of the row) and insert needle into wrap and knit together with the wrapped stitch. M1 before the last stitch of the row and knit the last stitch. There are now 174 sts on the needle. Knit two rows and purl one row before starting a lace edging.

Knit three stitches (= edge sts) at the beginning and end of all rows. Between those edge stitches work Lace chart 1 and/or 2 a total of 6 times and then Lace chart 3 once (= 3 edge sts + 6 repeats of Lace chart 1 or 2 + Lace chart 3 + 3 edge sts). Lace charts 1 and 2 are interchangeable, so you can change their order as you like or use either of them.
