by RiotousAssembly (Sue Grandfield) $\approx60g$ Wollmeise sock yarn - Natural (MC) $\approx60g$ Wollmeise sock yarn - Sultan (CC1) ${\approx}30\mathrm{g}$ Wollmeise for heels, toes & cuffs (cc2) (shownwithGranatapfel&AdmiralforCC2) 2.50mm & 2.25mm needles or sizes to obtain gauge A simple slip stitch patternknit with 1 colour at a time! Leg: Using MC & CC1, work chart pattern until sock measures $6.25^{\prime\prime}$ /16cm from cast on edge [ 11 repeats] (or until length desired) finishing with round 4 or round 8 Heel Flap: Using 2.25mm & CC2: Work next 32 / 34/ 36 / 38 sts as follows; R1) Knit all sts R2) sl1, $\ast_{\mathsf{p1}}$ ; rep from \* to end R3) sl1, $*_{\mathrm{~k1}}$ , sl1; rep from \* to last st, k1 R4) sl1, $\ast_{\mathsf{p1}}$ ; rep from \* to end Repeat rows 3 and 4 until a total of 32 /34 / 36 /38 rows have been worked.
Turn Heel: Using 2.25mm & CC2:
R1) Knit 18 / 19/ 20 / 21sts; ssk, k1, turn R2) sl1, p5, p2 tog, p1, turn R3) sl1, knit to first st before gap, ssk, k1, turn R4) sl1, purl to first st before gap, p2tog, p1, turn Repeat R3 & R4 until all heel flap stitches worked; 18/20/20 / 22 sts remain on heel flap.
Gussets: Using 2.5mm needle & CC2
Needle #1: Knit 9/10/10/11sts Place marker (start of round). Break off CC2, & using MC K 9/10/ 10/ 11sts, pickup & knit 17/18/19/20 along LHS of gusset (i.e. one for each chain of selvedge $^{+1}$ extra) Needle #2: Work across instep sts in pattern increasing 1 st at end of row - 33/35/37/39 instep sts [Note: Depending on the last pattern row you worked in the leg, the pattern will resume with either R1 or R5] The extra st is worked as K1 in all further rows Needle #3: Pickup & knit 17/18/19 / 20 sts along RHS of gusset (i.e. one for each chain of selvedge $^{+1}$ extra) Join in CC1

Note : Work sole stitches in the same colour as set for instep pattern rows; i.e. 2 rows CC1, 2 rows MC. Gusset decreases are worked every 4 rows because of the contraction of the slip stitch patterns. R1) Needle 1: \* sl1, k1; rep from \* to 3 sts before end of needle, k2tog, K1 Needle 2: Work across instep sts in pattern Needle 3: K1, ssk, \*sl 1, k1;rep from\*to end of needle Next row: Needle #1: Work to last 3 sts, K2tog, k1. Work rest of round without further decreases. 64/68/72/76sts Foot: Continue in patterns as established without decreasing until foot measures $1.5/1.75/2/2.25^{\prime\prime}/$ [4/4.5/5/5.5 cm] less than length required. Toe: Using $\phantom{-}2.25\mathsf{m m}$ and CC2 distribute stitches: Needle #1: 16 / 17/ 18 /19 sts Needle #2: 32/34/ 36 / 38sts Needle #3: 16 /17/ 18 /19 sts Needle 1: Knit all sts (no decreases) Needle 2: Work across instep sts in pattern Needle 3: Knit all sts (no decreases) Finishing: Graft toe, sew in ends, block lightly. R3) Needle 1: \* sl1, k1; rep from \* to last 2 sts, K2 (no decreases)

Work all sts in st st as follows: R1) Needle #1: Knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 Needle #2: k1, ssk, knit to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1 Needle #3: k1, k2tog, knit to end of needle R2) & R3) Knit all sts
All sizes:
Repeat R1 -R3 until 56/60/56/52 sts remain then; Repeat R1 -R2 until 44/40/36/36 sts remain then; Repeat R1(decrease every row) until 16/16/20/20 sts remain Needle 2: Knit across instep sts in pattern Needle 3: K2, \* sl1, k1 ;rep from\*to end of needle (no decreases) Note: In R1 &R3: Sts 3 & 4 on needle 3 will change as you decrease the gusset away:- they can be either , $^{\ast}\,K\pmb{1},\,s\pmb{1}\pmb{1},$ . rep from \* to end of needle OR , ${\ast}_{s I1,\,K1;}$ : rep from \* to end of needle Repeat rounds 1 -4 until 65 / 69 /73 /77sts remain
