Swirl E. Socks Knitting Pattern: Add a Twist to Your Self-Striping Yarn Socks

Prairie GirlDesigns

Swirl E. Socks

I love self-striping sock yarn, but sometimes want a little bit more 'oomph' than a plain sock provides. Swirls add just the right amount of 'oomph', while still keeping the sock simple and quick-to-knit. This pattern includes instructions for a heel flap and gusset. If you are using self-striping yarn and preserving the stripe sequence across the instep is important to you, consider using a heel that makes that easier to do, such as an afterthought heel or Megan William's OMG Heel (used in the sock pictured).
