Repeat these two rows (seed stitch) 4 more times—10 rows total. Next row: begin chart. Continue, repeating chart until you've worked 84 cm (33") or to desired length so that scarf can circle your neck twice comfortably and then button together. If possible, end on row 14 of chart so pattern is symmetrical. Beginning on right side row, begin seed stitch pattern again. If you would like button holes, on 5th row, (K1,P1) 4 times, K2tog,YO, (K1P1) 5 times, K2tog,YO, (K1,P1) to end. Complete 10 rows total of seed stitch and bind off. If you would like button loops instead, complete 10 rows seed stitch. On 11th row start binding off stitches and working small loops of i-cord as follows: bind off 7 stitches, work next stitch without binding off——2 sts on RH needle. \*Return both to LH needle and knit each again. Repeat from $^\star6$ more times. Then pass right stitch over left and continue binding off next stitch as before, thus re-attaching loop to work. Bind off next 12 stitches. Repeat above steps for 2nd button loop, then finish binding off remaining stitches.
