Pattern notes:
Scarf is made in continuous spiral method. Do not join at end of rounds, but work in same direction around and around to form tube. Place thread marker to note beginning of rounds and move it up as you go. After Round 1, work all triple crochets in back loop only. Stitches used: chain (ch), half double crochet (hdc), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st), triple crochet (trc) Terms/Abbreviations: beginning (beg), each (ea), hook (hk), loop (Ip), repeat (rep) round (rnd), slip (sl), slip stitch (sl st), stitch (st) Scarf Foundation chain: Ch 32, join into ring, being careful that chain is not twisted. (Note: leave beginning tail hanging to use as a guide later for location of side “seam".) h(32sts)Dotjoinbucontinuetorkincontinuuspiralacethreadma Rnd 2: Trc in back loop only (BLO) of ea st around (32 trc) Rep Round 2 until scarf measures approx. 72", or to desired length. Last round: Continuing to work in BLO, trc in 8 trc, dc in 8 trc, hdc in 8 trc, sc in 8 trc. Join with sl st and fasten off. Ruffled trim (on ends): Flatten scarf all along its length, using beginning tail as a guide to placement of fold line for side "seam". Holding one strand each of Color A and B together as one and working through both thicknesses, attach yarn to first st on one end of scarf, and work as follows: \*Ch 3, sc in next st, rep from \* across end of scarf, thus closing end of tube (15 ch-3 Ips). Fasten off. Rep on other end of tube. Ruffled trim (on scarf): (Note: trim is attached in the free loops that remain from working in BLO on scarf body.) Working from end of scarf toward center, hold one strand each of Color A and B together as one and attach to first free Ip on one end of scarf. \*Ch 3, sc in next free Ip, rep from \* around for a total of 5 rounds (or for desired number of rounds). Sl st in last st at side “seam" and fasten off. At other end of scarf, repeat ruffled trim along free Ips for 5 rounds (or desired number of rounds). Finishing: Weave in all tails. If necessary, gently wash and block scarf. Copyright 2010,2015 --Designs by KN-www.designsbykn.com For personal or charity use only. Do not duplicate pattern for commercial purposes.
