Pattern Notes
A cable cast-on is recommended because it creates a mirror image of the common bind off and makes the two edges of thisscarf identical. If you areunfamiliar with it you might view;http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFkYejFGwsl This helps to give you a more professional looking finished product. This is not a very stretchy cast-on but helps to maintain the shape of your scarf with lots of wear. I have also added one stitch to the cast on number to accommodate a technique I use to tighten your join when knitting in the round. This little trick decreases one stitch while tightening up the join for a “no gap" finish. The technique is described in the pattern instructions.
Norma's Scarf
Cast-on 124 sts. Join work in the round, being careful not to twist sts, and pm for beginning of round. Technique: CO 125 sts. Before beginning first round; slip the first stitch on your LH needle to your RH needle, then pass the first stitch on the RH needle over the slipped stitch, now place this stitch back onto the LH needle, pm on RH needle and begin work with 124 stitches.
